Highly underrated, one of the most truthfully
hard-edged but emotional bands out there.

Comfort for my brooding attitude. A terrible
shame that Layne couldn't fight past his demons.
This group was special.

This band was so powerful and so volatile that it
was a matter of time before it imploded.
Unfortunately, it happened at the cost of Layne.
He will be missed and he was one of my favorite
voices ever.

I think the new album warrants alot of credit
considering Layne Staley has been dead for almost
10 years now. With that said, the album is
incredible for what it is. Its a taste of the 90's
well into the new century. Every song on the album
has that old school AIC feel that was given to us
in Dirt. And the vocals don't miss a beat. You can
barley tell that Layne isn't singing anymore.
Grunge is back from the dead.

Alice in Chains are not grunge, because grunge is
not a genre. Their music is heavy metal all the
way.

Forgot everyone on here is an expert. I wouldn't
dare call AIC heavy metal. Thats just insulting to
the band.

Grunge is totally a genre LD and so is Emo for
that matter. As far as what BFADE said about the
new album and not missing Layne, I couldn't
disagree more. Layne was ten times the vocalist
of that new guy and I honestly didn't realize how
much of an impact he had on the music until I
heard the obvious difference in the new stuff.
