"To vanish into oblivion is easy to do."

Man, he said it. Except he took the hard way out, two self-inflicted stab wounds to the chest.

For a guy with such a harmonic music style, he carried a heavy heart and a misery within the likes none of us can imagine.

R.I.P. No one can transcend the work you've done.

one depressing motherfucker to listen to. but still, a solid artist that made some good songs despite his personal issues. till he killed himself that is.

A phenomenal musician, the songs he made and the way he recorded them were truly unique. It's a shame he gets reduced to "the depressed guy" or the addict, because there was so much more to him as a person. He got clean shortly before his death, it's such a shame that things went the way they did for him.

fuck 'em! he'll never live up to half of what hunter s thomson did, and i shunned him for killing himself. this guy's nothing but a whiny bitch. who the fuck cares if he's gone.

Well obviously people who liked him and his music.
Your right he wasnt Hunter S. Thomson. He is Elliott Smith,
A great muscian who needs more credit than what he gets.
This site isnt for bashing on music you don't like, its for expressing how the music makes you feel, and if you actually listened to his words, I'm sure you wouldnt be such a hateful person.
But who am I to judge.....

I love Elliott Smith, and all his depressing ways.
FIY his "easy way out" is actually a mystery.
