It's a damn shame that these guys aren't widely known. They're one of the most original and talented bands on the planet. Hopefully their latest album, "Fear of a Blank Planet" will get them the attention that they deserve.

They have been pumping out 1-2... sometimes even 6 albums a year. That's insane.

I just started listening to them but they have a sound akin to Tool, Dream Theater and Pink Floyd. They've been around for almost 20 years anyway, and they should be given much more credit. Very talented, lost in the shuffle.

Incredibly talented musicians. They have some of the best production and overall instrumentation that I've ever heard, not to mention an amazing lyrical style and sweet album artwork. They can do both long and short tracks amazingly well, and have an incredibly diverse range of styles. Amazing.

It's my personal opinion that if it weren't for Nirvana, these guys would've gotten much much bigger than they are now, because I think PT is the greatest band in the world. Not my favorite band mind you, but I still humbly dub them the greatest band in the world. (no offense to nirvana)

In Absentia still stands as one of my most favorite albums ever. Most ceratinly up there with VAST, and Ayreon's Into The Electric Castle

I've onlly been listening to Porcupine tree for 2 years now and was always meaning to pick it up. Now I have every album and I am inspired by everything they do. Every album just hits me at my core and I love every second of it. Why these guys are not getting awards for there great work and all that crap out there people call music are....we will never know.

In Absentia is for sure my favorite album of theirs, but Deadwing is also wonderful, the last half of that album is fucking fantastic!

The concert last night was out of this world. If you haven't seen them live now would be a good time they did such a amazing job.
