there has been 15 years of green day prior to
American Idiot, argueably one of the most
influential bands of all time.

Green Day is one of the best bands of our time
right now. they just kicked it off with the
American Idiot CD but the old songs are still
great... actually most of my favorite songs that
they do are old like Minority and Basketcase. but
they are still a great band no matter what

Nimrod and Insomniac are the best albums In my
opinion. Green day is still one of the most
amazing Punk bands to surface. I liked them better
before they went all miantstreeam though. American
Idiot is still an okay cd though. Still a very
influencial band and created a amazing name for
themsleves.

These guys were pretty cool, but now they're
doing stuff with bands it takes away a lot of the
originality. Also now they've gone emo-style too.
Their old songs were way better, and since
American Idiot it's gotten god damn crappy.

Definitely not "one of the most influential
bands of all time" as someone commented.
They're an alright band, but nothing more. I used
to enjoy Dookie a lot but after American Idiot,
its all been kind of spoiled for me. I listen to
them occasionally now, but they aren't the fucking
Beatles, guys.

Green Day is amazing. People who think they have
gone "emo" or have "sold out"
have absolutely no idea what they are talking
about. How is doing what no one else wants you to
do selling out?? There is absolutely nothing more
punk rock than doing what you want to do and not
giving a fuck what anyone thinks. That's what they
do. That's what they have always done. People said
they sold out after Dookie! The bottom line is
American Idiot is one of the greatest albums ever
recorded and this is coming from someone who has
listened to thousands of albums recorded from the
50's -present and owns everything Green Day has
ever recorded. The great bands need to evolve and
change. People put down The Beatles and Bob Dylan
for changing also. I'm pretty sure Green Day has
no problem being in the same company as them.
