Murder by Death have returned to bring forth another brillant album. In Bocca Al Lupo (which translates to In the mouth of the wolf) is just as beautiful and imaginative as Who Will Survive. While not exactly a concept album, the songs possess a lot of the same themes such as tragedy, sin, and redemption. And again, this album carries over the saloon style, atmospheric moody presence that surrounded Who Will Survive. Also the Johnny Cash influence are also still felt. Songs like Brother and Shiola really sound like something The Man In Black would appreciate. Whether it's the storytelling or Adam's vocals, it seems that Cash's spirit is present.

You can tell that the band wanted to try something a little different here and there. Dead Men and Sinners isn't so much a song as it is a diary entry of sorts. With 9 different vocals tracks in differnt voices, Adam tells the story of a crew of sailors and their captin in desperate times. It's something that throws you off a bit but it's still great. Then there are songs like Boy Decide, One More Notch, and Sometimes The Line Walks You where you just get caught up in the moment. It's upbeat tempo just gets you going and the singing gets you pumped. Some of the more mournful sadder songs like Dynamite Mine and The Big Sleep are just touching and beautiful.

This album has so much to offer the listener. Each instrument played has a specific role in each song and with each sound that's created, it just adds to the tension and vision of the album. But I'm going to have to single out Sarah, the cello player. She sets the tone for most of the songs and does an amazing job at it. Her playing is just captivating. I had the pleasure of seeing the band live last year and wow. You cannot draw your eyes off her. She's beautiful and she plays the cello with such a fierce intensity that will leave you dumb-founded. it's simply amazing.

All in all, Murder by Death have raised the bar again. With yet another orginal view and delivery, the band continues to blow away their listeners at an alarming rate. I have a feeling that this band is just warming up and I anticipate every album to come. I can't stress ENOUGH how talented this band is. This review hardly does them justice. If you want to experiance it first hand, buy their albums or see them live. Either way, you'll come out a fan.
