Good Lord, this is such an AMAZING band. This review will not do this album nor the band justice so I just hope I convey their badassity to you. I first heard this band live when I went to go see Tub Ring. I had only heard the name: Foxy Shazam and just by that I knew they had to be a little different. But I was not prepared for the most energetic, insane, onslaught of pure undiluted awesomeness that were to assult my eardrums. By the first song I was hooked. From then on I could only stare in awe as they finished the rest of their set. Needless to say I was the first in line to buy the cd.
From that point on, I have listened to the album religiously. I seriously have not this excited about a band since I first heard Dog Fashion Disco years ago. This band definately stands on it's own. It has everything. It'll make you wanna dance, it'll make you want to scream and thrash your head to every note, it will simply stun you. From 'The French Passion of Animality Opera' to the last closing track, 'Shadow of a Shoulder Parrot' you will take in each song and love every second of it. 'NO, Don't Shoot' and 'Aroma Of You' will fucking blow you away, I promise you. I am not even going to try and describe their sound. I do know this though, the music will make you happy and it will get your blood pumping. It will at the very least make some part of your body move. It will having you going back for more and more wether for the intense screaming or for the different styles of singing or maybe for the insanely talented keyboards. Maybe for the quirkly bass lines or the pounding drums...you choose your poison.
I can't not express how much I have fell in love with this band since first hearing them, I really can't. If this review does anything at all, then maybe it'll raise your curiousity about them and maybe you'll check out their MySpace or their website...anything to where you can hear them for yourself. The rest will fall into place and their music will lead you to some way to buy their album, The Flamigo Trigger. Thanks for reading and PLEASE give these guys a chance, you will not be dissapointed.
