Rain, come down, and fall forever
Drain, the dirt, into the wasteland
Pray, for sound, to quiet the howling
Feel, no shame, too brave
Feel, afraid, to wait forever
Kneel, to fade, the day's corrosion
Crawl, depart, towards perdition...

This CD is truly a hidden gem. Atmospheric prog-metal at its best, with an unique eerie apocalyptic vibe.
The classic doom elements from their earlier albums have been replaced by a more progressive, synth-driven sound in the vein of Fates Warning/Dream Theater. Throw in a vocalist that is every bit as magnificante as the grand Geoff Tate of Queensr˙che, and you've got a fair picture.
And as with all good progressive bands, excellent musicianship is part of the deal.
But the real reason this album excels among the masses of prog-metal clones, is found in its apocalyptic atmosphere.
Lyrically, this is very close to a concept album, centered around the story of the apocalypse as found in the Bible, placed in modern times. And while one might not buy into that concept, it nevertheless creates a very special atmosphere, which is perfectly reflected in the music.
From the slightly industrial-influenced Hysterical History to the epic Last Letter From Earth, with parts that even hints at Maiden-esque atmosphere, this is a great album that grows on you. And as the band itself, it definitely deserves more attention.
