1. Foo Fighters -  Home
Yeah, I did say that this song could fit onto Parachutes easily, and I stick by that after hearing it more. I'm not saying that as a bad thing either. It's the first time that Dave has played piano on a Foo's record i do believe, and wow is it ever haunting. This song is just simply beautiful, and it does make you realize how old the guys are getting. I think Dave's daughter had the biggest influence on this song, and if this turns out to be the bands last album, they could not have ended it in a better way. As simplistic as it is, it is still by far one of the best Foo Fighter songs released. I will go on record saying that. I really don't want this song to be prolific, being such a huge fan of the group, but this song says a lot more than what I think some people realize.

2. Foo Fighters -  But, Honestly
Taylor's drumming in this is just incredible. it was the first thing that I picked up on when I first heard this track. This is another one of those acoustic tracks that just explodes, and I think that it could have been the best song on the album if they just would have picked a better way to end it. I really hate how it fades out just like that. The song just builds up and builds up, goes nuts, and then....that's it. It really let me down, and it still does. Up to that point though, this song is nothing short of amazing.

3. Foo Fighters -  Statues
Yeah, this has such a nostalgic vibe to it. At first I was a little hesitant at liking it, but now....yeah. It's a beautiful song with an easy going, peaceful feeling that you just have to enjoy. I really don't have all that much to say about it though. Just lay back, close your eyes, and drift away into a state of bliss.

4. Foo Fighters -  The Ballad Of The Beaconsfield Miners
This is actually a duet with Dave and Kaki King. It's not as good as what I was hoping for, and I really wish they would have let Kaki let out more and show her true talents (trust me, this girl is a wizard on the guitar) but damn is this ever a sweet sounding melody. Quite a departure for the Foo's though, and I doubt if all fans will like it. If you do, please go and check out Kaki King though. I can't say enough how good she is.

5. Foo Fighters -  Summer's End
Ha, to me this is the weakest track on the album. I just dislike the way Dave sings this one. Seems very monotone and unemotional. It does fit the mood and tempo of the song though. But for some reason, this track doesn't do it for me at all. the entire track just seems lack lustering and just plain average.

6. Foo Fighters -  Cheer Up, Boys (Your Make-Up Is Running)
I got that Last Song vibe too, but I wouldn't call it the weakest song. They said they put this song here to break up the depressing vibe from the acoustic stuff, and I think it does just that. It's not an over the top, rock masterpiece, but it doesn't try to be either. Just a catchy song to sing along and bob your head to.

7. Foo Fighters -  Stranger Things Have Happened
I believe I can say that this is my favorite song on the album. Dave's singing is just spot on, and yes, the guitar work is just as great. The no drums was a little odd to me at first, but that quickly past. I guess it was because the other acoustics built up into an explosion of rock, and this track just kept along at it's pace, and left you wondering. That little guitar solo near the end just pulls the song together so well too. It was a little hard to figure out the lyrics the first few times I heard it, but after reading them out, I can't stop singing.

8. Foo Fighters -  Long Road To Ruin
Yeah, I had that same experience. I skipped it the first few times I listened to the album, but now I start singing every time it comes on. I can see this being the last single they put out for the record. It has that nostalgic feeling to it like on Everlong, but really I would call this Learning To Fly pt. 2. Every album tends to have on sleeper hit. A song that on its own is amazing, but tends to get looked over for other hits. This is that song. After a few plays, it will grow on you tremendously, and you'll be hooked.

9. Foo Fighters -  Erase / Replace
I got mixed feelings about this one. At times I love it, at other I skip it, but it is a solid track. That opening riff I could do without though. It's really repetitive, and the lyrics really could have used some work. But damn do those drums ever pull me in. It's the heaviest song on the album behind The Pretender, but around the 2:30 mark it shifts gears into a mellow, fantasy type like state. It adds to the song in ways, but takes away from it in others. I think if they would have replaced that with an all out guitar solo it would have done wonders for the song. Like I said, a lot of mixed feelings here.

10. Foo Fighters -  Let It Die
Yeah, it's like you can feel him spitting on you at the end. There's actually some controversy going on with this song, and some people are thinking it's about Courtney. Can't say much about that, but this is easily in the top 3 songs on the album to me. The little acoustic riff at the beginning, the mild build up, to the balls out explosion of a wall of guitars, all are golden. It's a little repetitive, but you got to expect that from these guys. Either way, amazing song and a must listen.

12. Foo Fighters -  Come Alive
This song is so fucking good. One hell of a rock balladesque type song. Although as of right now I've only heard the live version, I can already tell that this will be a huge highlight on the cd, and in no way should it not be released as a single. The flow of it, the guitars, Dave's singing, all of it just come together on this track. Absolutly love it.

13. Foo Fighters -  The Pretender
This song is catchy as fuck. It's so much heavier than most of the stuff (if not all of it) from the past 2 albums. It seems like Dave got tired of all the acoustic shows and music from the past album, and wanted to just go balls to the wall, and damn did he ever. This is just making me want to hear the rest of the album even badder now. I'm just going to throw this out there, and say that this will be the best album of 2007.

14. Tegan And Sara -  Call It Off
And they couldn't have closed it off any better. My absolute favorite song on the record, and really, it's turning into one of my favorite of all time by them. This is the song that you will hear on numerous tv shows (such as Greys Anatomy I bet) and youtube videos across the world. It is so touching, and so sad. This is the Don't Confess of The Con. To me, if they would make a cd of all songs like this, I would be in heaven. I love how they just kept the music as simple as possible, and really went back to their roots. They said in numerous interviews that they did not want to be known as the twins who play accoustic guitars, but seriously, it's what their best at (in my opinion at least.)

15. Tegan And Sara -  Dark Come Soon
This is what I want more of. I was so dissapointed after listening to the cd because it did not have more songs such as this one. It's just raw, emotional, sad, depressing, uplifting, and just remarkable. It has that really old style of there's, and although still goes a little off with the synths, I still love it. It carries that flow that I have bitched so much about, and has some lyrics that everyone can relate to. Very well done.

16. Tegan And Sara -  Like O, Like H
And here we have the saving point of the cd. The placement on this is perfect, since it makes you want to continue listening to the cd, as opposed to the previous few. This song is in my opinion the catchiest on the album, and one that I can't help but sing along to. I believe that they were actually going to name the album Sugar Spell It Out which would have been just as fitting, since The Con and this are easily the funnest songs on the record, and the ones that are going to get the most attention.

17. Tegan And Sara -  Floorplan
This is easily my least favorite song on this record. It has no real flow, seems forced at times, and really, has no melody throughout the song. It seems pieced together, and sounds like two or three songs in one. The synths really don't add anything either, and just seems to take even more away from the song. A low point for sure to me. To be truthful, it's probably one of the very very few songs of theirs that I naturally dislike.

18. Tegan And Sara -  Nineteen
Although I hear a lot of people saying how much they like this song, I feel that it is a real low point on the cd. This song does not do it for me at all, and even though the ending has some touching lyrics, they way they sing it, along with the style of music they chose just does not work. It's one thing to have a song sound rough or raw, but to me, this just seems like they overdid it. It probably would have been great with just a minimal amount of instruments and more softer sounding vocals.

19. Tegan And Sara -  Burn Your Life Down
This is another one of those songs that i really like when it comes on, but really, it's not a track that I go looking for when I put on the cd. In some ways it seems like it was put together from a couple different songs, and is missing that natural flow that they were so good at before. Also, I really dislike the way it just ends. By doing this on so many songs, it just takes the flow out of the cd, and I really don't think that they considered this. There's just no transition from song to song, and that could really make or break an album.

20. Tegan And Sara -  Soil, Soil
Once again, this song just seems like filler by the length of it, but really I quite adore the lyrics. It's really well written, and a lot more emotional than one first thinks. I think with a little work, and more focus on the song, this could have been very lovely.

21. Tegan And Sara -  Hop A Plane
This is a song that is very similar to what you would hear on So Jealous. I like that they went back with a retro style song, but it's really nothing special. At some points it's quite catchy, but it still seems very forgetable. It's an average type song for them really.

22. Tegan And Sara -  Back In Your Head
This song is really good, but it could have been great if the would have changed that keyboard for ANYTHING else. It makes the song very juvenile, and just seems to irritate me. I can imagine that a lot of the younger fans will love it, but to me it's just seems like they could do so much better. Other than that though, the song is really entertaining, and one that can get caught in your head for days.

23. Tegan And Sara -  Are You Ten Years Ago
After my first listen of the album, this was the song that most intruiged me, and after more and more listens, it still grabs me. It seems to be very different than most of their other work, but it is still reminescent of songs such as Our Tree's, The First, and Superstar. I think it could have been better if it had a less mechanical sound to it, but it's still very catchy, and is going to be a love or hate type song I do believe.

24. Tegan And Sara -  Knife Going In
This song is pretty decent on the album, but really, on it's own, it isn't so great. It's not a song that I look forward to when I put the cd on, but I also don't turn it off or skip it when it comes on. the vocals just don't seem to be all there, and it just doesn't seem to go anywheres. Sort of a filler track if you ask me.

25. Tegan And Sara -  The Con
Here we have the title song, and what could easily be the first single off of the new album. This is just amazingly catchy, and just drives at you at full force. It's moody, dark, and really, just seems like the girls are PMSing all over someone. So far I've heard that this is many fans favorite on the record, and though it isn't mind, I can definetly see why they would think so.

26. Tegan And Sara -  Relief Next To Me
All and all, this is a great song. It shows the more progressive side of the duo, and flows in the right direction the entire time. the lyrics are quite singable, and that of which most people can relate. The only thing that I don't care for though, is the way that it ends. It just sort of dies off, and that seems to be a reaccurring theme on the album. In my honest opinion though, can easily be a single.

27. Tegan And Sara -  I Was Married
This is a kind of odd opener. It's kind of catchy, but for the most part, it doesn't really do much, or go anywhere. It does blend in with the album for the most part, and I must say that when I first put the cd on, I'm already singing this before it even starts.

28. Emily Haines -  Doctor Blind
This version is really growing on me. At first I liked the Metric version a hell of a lot better, but now it's pretty close. The video though, is another story. It's just too....odd. I mean I like unique videos, but this one is just plain weird. And Emily's acting isn't the best either, so that doesn't help it.

29. Death Cab For Cutie -  Stable Song
I honestly can't remember when a music video hit me so hard. The more I heard this song, the more I liked it, but it wasn't until this morning when I fell in love with it. I stumbled across the music video here: http://www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail/2696818 and I had shivers the entire time. I seriously came close to crying at the end. It's just amazingly emotional, and combined with the lyrics to the song makes it one of the best video's released in my opinion. I'm begging everyone to take a few minutes out of their day to witness this masterpiece by clicking the formentioned link.

30. Fiona Apple -  On The Bound
I could go on and on about how much I love this song, and album, but instead I'll just tell people what the actual name for this album is. Most people know it as When the pawn... or some people even call it When the Pawn Hits, but in fact the actual name for the record is: "When the Pawn Hits the Conflicts He Thinks like a King
What He Knows Throws the Blows When He Goes to the Fight
And He'll Win the Whole Thing 'Fore He Enters the Ring
There's No Body to Batter When Your Mind Is Your Might
So When You Go Solo, You Hold Your Own Hand
And Remember That Depth Is the Greatest of Heights
And If You Know Where You Stand, Then You Know Where to Land
And If You Fall It Won't Matter, Cuz You'll Know That You're Right." Now you see why they left it with the periods...
