Covered As: Tears In Heaven by Gregorian
Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven?
Would it be the same
If I saw you in heaven?

I must be strong
And carry on,
'Cause I know I don't belong
Here in heaven.

Would you hold my hand
If I saw you in heaven?
Would you help me stand
If I saw you in heaven?

I'll find my way
Through night and day,
'Cause I know I just can't stay
Here in heaven.

Time can bring you down,
Time can bend your knees.
Time can break your heart,
Have you begging please, begging please.

Beyond the door,
There's peace I'm sure,
And I know there'll be no more
Tears in heaven.

Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven?
Would it be the same
If I saw you in heaven?

I must be strong
And carry on,
'Cause I know I don't belong
Here in heaven.

One of the greatest songs I've ever heard. Really emotional lyrics ... a very well-written song. The Unplugged acoustic version is very good, too.

It's common knowledge that this song was written for his infant son who died when he fell from a window. Knowing that, and trying to imagine his heartbreak really adds a lot to the song.

Agreed with SkySoldierEbG... It's songs like these that make music what it is as a meaningful way to connect from one to another and to another, and so on. This is obviously one of the greatest songs of all time and will forever be recognized as such. Thank you Eric Clapton and God bless.

Once you know what this song's about, it breaks your heart just to think about the lyrics, and what he must have gone through.
