Covered As: The Nurse Who Loved Me by A Perfect Circle
say hello to the rug's topography
it holds quite a lot of interest with your face down on it
say hello to the shrinking in your head
you can't see it but you know its there so don't neglect it

i'm taking her home with me all dressed in white
she's got everything i need pharmacy keys
she's falling hard for me i can see it in her eyes
she acts just like a nurse with all the other guys

say hello to all the apples on the ground
they were once in your eyes but you sneezed them out while sleeping
say hello to everything you've left behind
it's even more a part of your life now that you can't touch it

i'm taking her home with me all dressed in white
she's got everything i need some pills and a little cup
she's falling hard for me i can see it in her eyes
she acts just like a nurse with all the other guys

This is not failure's best song, but it is a great song regardless. This song builds to a massive crescendo of sound and then explodes in goodness, unlike the APC cover, while good, just sort of wallows around in a pool of string sounds.

I agree with eta, APC's version is alright, but its so boring when you compare it to the original, superior version.

i think this song is much better than the apc version and the only people who think otherwise are people that love tool/apc to death and have never heard anything failure's done other than this. the apc version goes nowhere, and this one, though not their strongest song, is so much more dynamic and moving. basically what eta said.

I agree that the original is better because of how it builds up, but I don't like the chords. It sounds like he had an idea of what he wanted to do, but he couldn't figure out the progression in his head, so he went with powerchords. I think the perfect Nurse Who Loved Me would be APC's version building into Failure's version. In fact, the "bad sounding" chords would be perfect for the end when everything's in your face.
