Shakedown 1979, cool kids never have the time
On a live wire right up off the street
You and I should meet
Junebug skipping like a stone
With the headlights pointed at the dawn
We were sure we'd never see an end to it all
And I don't even care to shake these zipper blues
And we don't know
Just where our bones will rest
To dust I guess
Forgotten and absorbed into the earth below
Double cross the vacant and the bored
They're not sure just what we have in store
Morphine city slippin dues down to see
That we don't even care as restless as we are
We feel the pull in the land of a thousand guilts
And poured cement, lamented and assured
To the lights and towns below
Faster than the speed of sound
Faster than we thought we'd go, beneath the sound of hope
Justine never knew the rules,
Hung down with the freaks and the ghouls
No apologies ever need be made, I know you better than you fake it
To see that we don't even care to shake these zipper blues
And we don't know just where our bones will rest
To dust I guess
Forgotten and absorbed into the earth below
The street heats the urgency of sound
As you can see there's no one around

I love this song to death!!!! Its a great song and it has a great video to go with it. This song it pretty much like my life well the video is. It makes me feel that it caught what it was like in 1979. Only SP can pull this song off and they did it great no one can ever sound like these guys, which is the bad ass part of it!!!!! XD!

Great great great song. I remember a time when songs this good were played on the radio - and were NEW. Where has all the great music, like this, gone?

the bands decided to either A) break-up or B) had a death in 'em or C) decided to do the whole solo thing... for the most part though, the "broken bands" seem to be hooking up with other "broken bands" ... just think about it... twiggy left Manson for NIN, Iha left SP for APC, then you have Audioslave and Velvet Revolver and so on and so on and so on... so, if you're wanting to hear some incredible music again, start praying to whatever god you believe in and hope that the SP tour that has been talked about will actually happen...

I agree with Wiener Face, as much as it pains me to write his name. This really is a perfect, brilliant song.
