Spinning further, deeper
I know you're out to try me
I'm not in this to be a slave
Push the dirt
Make me feel
Locate what swallows life
Night bird you build my world

...and then I close my eyes

Judge me now
Used to be afraid to let it show
Bow down
I'm in a much better place now
Everything's in place
So much brighter from today
A king in my own mind

Drown the monster
Make all bad dreams go away
Whatever it takes to keep your hands free
Open scars
The quiet place
All the bridges fall to the ground
And you say you sacrificed

This song is absolutly stunning, it lacks any sign of a complicated solo but the rest of the song is just so melodic, yet so heavy..... its amazing.... hope the rest of the album has some solos and songs as good as this...... perfection

Although so far this cd is a bit of a let down to all old in flames fans because they are capeable of much better, this is still actually a really goodsong and CD , One hell of a song in my own mind

well, i think that this song in particular is good. i think it's more creative than the last one.. sure it's not like the older inflames but i'd say it's just as good.. just different. some people don't know what they're talking about. NOT DISAPOINTED!!

I disagree with N.O.2. and saying this is just average. I really like it, definetly a good first impression for the cd for me.

I hate the nu-metal sound to it!
Bad song.

"The Quiet Place" just broke a Swedish record by debuting at #2, the highest of any metal song in Sweden ever. I love the song and love the Spy Hunter sound mixed in! If you don't like it, then don't listen to it.

would be nice if Ander's didn't whine through out the entire song. Perhaps the ONLY in flames song I have heard where I cannot stand his voice. Sounds like whinney americanized nu-metal.

To divert from the general "this sounds like nu-metal" statement, the only bad thing about this song is the vocals. I respect the fact that In Flames are ever-changing, but it may not be a good change.

I never got into older In Flames and it doesn't look like I'll get into the newer stuff after hearing this.

This is the first song I ever heard from this band. (They aren't well known in Europe) Ams I was sold right away! This is Brutal as hell!

I'm going to have to concure with most of what was said. To people who really like the songs from "Clayman", "Whoracle", and "Colony", this song would be almost embarassing. But I guess if you're just a fan of metal and you don't care about all the stuff that In Flames used to do (great solos, incredible song-writing, etc.) then this will be right up your alley. I don't mean that in any condescending way, but if you've been listening to metal for the past few years, this is what you'll like.

Oh boy, I just got this song out of curiousity from the comments here. I do prefer old In Flames to the newer stuff. If I had not known it was In Flames I would never have guessed it from this song. This sounds like Manson going over-tech. No wonder it lists Slipknot as mutual like for this band. I am truely scared. They've officially departed from their metal roots. Fans of swed metal will probably run from this. Very disappointing. Made for pop radio, not In Flames fans.

I'm an avid In Flames fanatic, new and old. I actually liked this song, too, save for the vocals.

this is better than anything from reroute to remain... but has no chance against anything from the jester race. however it is an amazing song, great melody

Killer song. Stop expecting In Flames to sound like they did on Lunar Strain. Listen to each album separately and if you don't like them, oh well.

Despite their drums not being that hard for a metal band, they are a tight group and leave you in awe with their intricate melodies

Even after listening to most off the In Flames stuff on previous records like The Jester Race this song remains my favorite In Flames song. The album is nothing compared to older In Flames but this particular song is absolutely brilliant!

Just because this is new stuff doesn't mean it can't rock with the best of them. 2nd best song on the album.

A complete change from their older albums, but this is one of the best "new" songs they have out there right now. Among the best on the album.
