Sitting on an angry chair
Angry walls that steal the air
Stomach hurts and I don't care

What do I see across the way
See myself molded in clay
Stares at me, yeah, I'm afraid
Changing the shape of his face

Candles red, I have a pair
Shadows dancing everywhere
Burning on the angry chair

Little boy made a mistake
Pink cloud has now turned to gray
All that I want is to play
Get on your knees, time to pray, boy

I don't mind, yeah
I don't mind, I-I-I
I don't mind, yeah
I don't mind, I-I-I
Lost my mind, yeah
But I don't mind, I-I-I
Can't find it anywhere
I don't mind

Corporate prison, we stay
I'm a dull boy, work all day
So, I'm strung out anyway

Loneliness is not a phase
Field of pain is where I graze
Serenity is far away

Saw my reflection and cried
So little hope, that I died
Feed me your lies, open wide
Weight of my heart, not the size

Pink cloud has now turned to gray
All that I want is to play
Get on your knees, time to pray.

Song Facts
Cantrell said, "Such a brilliant song. I'm very proud of Layne for writing it. When I've stepped up vocally in the past he's been so supportive, and here was a fine example of him stepping up with the guitar and writing a masterpiece."

Probably the catchiest song on the album. Nice and grim.

yeah, very dark very ominous sounding track with a really bright chorus harmony.

By the way, this is a great song. One of my favirotes from the band. So much emotion in the lyrics and vocals.

How are they Godsmack rip offs? Alice In Chains is metallic grunge and Godsmack is heavy metal; there's NO F*CKING WAY they're rip offs.

Don't take away the fact that Godsmack's debut was in '98

If there is a soundtrack to hell, this would be the title track. Well written and performed. AIC at their very best.

fuck alla youse, this song is nothing like Godsmack...let me set the record straight for this...AIC and Godsmack have nothing in common and though Godsmack used to be an AIC cover band they both make different kinds of music and to tell the truth AIC is way better than Godsmack will ever be
Avatar #15: Doubtless - added: 10/14/2005, 02:42 PM
Yea, as much as I like both bands, I don't think there's a lot of similarities. That, and Alice In Chains is a classic 90's band, and Godsmack is fairly new in comparison. If anyone was a rip off, it'd have to be the boys from Godsmack, because they weren't around for Alice In Chains to rip off.

This song has so much power. Again, it demonstrates what a loss it was when Layne Staley left us.

Fantastic fucking song so dark and despressing.

I agree with most of you. One of AIC's darkest and moodiest and best.
