Covered As: Man In The Box by Richard Cheese
I'm the man in the box
Buried in my shit
Won't you come and save me, save me
CHORUS
Feed my eyes, can you sew them shut?
Jesus Christ, deny your maker
He who tries, will be wasted
Feed my eyes now you've sewn them shut
I'm the dog who gets beat
Shove my nose in shit
Won't you come and save me, save me
CHORUS
Facelift

one of their most famous songs, also one of my favourites. GREAT melody in the chorus. it's a great song but like the rest of the album it doesnt come close to the depth and scope of their later work.

Grunge sucks! Grunge is for people who claim to be suicidal, but they never actually think about committing suicide because they are terrified and want attention.Just like this band.
Avatar #6: Deadwired2 - added: 08/28/2004, 12:52 PM
...No. That's just the way Layne wrote. Not to mention, you can be depressed and not contemplate suicide. Unfortunately, you can't like a band who's an admitted joke(GWAR) and expect to be taken seriously.
Avatar #7: Chad - added: 08/28/2004, 01:12 PM
That Gwar comment was quite harsh.
Avatar #8: Cratic - added: 09/07/2004, 04:08 PM
no, none of them think about suicide...kurt was having the best time of his life, but slipped on a shotgun...you fucking dumbass

I also believe that they are more metal then Grunge. Just listen to their guitars. Quite heavy. This btw is one off my favorite songs by them!

What a classic it is. ALICE IN CHAINS RULES!!!
Avatar #11: Big D - added: 09/18/2004, 01:14 PM
By the way, my theory is that they were metallic grunge.

It's OK MMMDI, we know you're serious because you manage the site. Would you like me to kiss your ass some more, sir?
Avatar #13: Cratic - added: 09/30/2004, 11:32 PM
What the hell kind of comment was that? He just said that it was a harsh comment, which i think is true. You don't have to start giving him shit because he runs the site. He can post comments just like anyone else.

This isn't metal, and suicidal tendencies aren't grunge. Grunge is Seattle based music from the 80's and early 90's. It's not a genre, it's a scene. I was a baby in Seattle at the time, my Mom went to the fucking clubs, AiC is a typical grunge band, they were hard ass rock, not Nirvana punk rock. Well, a mix.

I think he knows I was joking. Yeah.

The video freaks the hell out of my to this day. Very catchy. Great lyrics and great riffs.
One of their best.
Avatar #22: Big D - added: 08/17/2005, 10:22 PM
Actually, it was the "unbuttoning my pants" joke that made me sarcastically ill. Your "ass kissing" joke made me laugh, not sick. :)

The riff just never gets old. I dunno about my favorite AIC song, but this comes damn close.

The song is awesome

For most, their first taste of AIC. What a killer song! It was definitely enough for me to go out and get my first taste of the grunge movement. Of course, that wasn't mentioned or coined at the time, but who knew what was to come?
Avatar #28: Lucid Dreams - added: 08/24/2009, 07:03 PM
You're right this was my first taste and I wanted more.
Avatar #29: BurnMyEyes93 - added: 07/25/2010, 08:07 PM
