Woohoohoo
Woohoohoo

Debbie just hit the wall
She never had it all
One Prozac a day
Husband's a CPA
Her dreams went out the door
When she turned twenty four
Only been with one man
What happened to her plan?

She was gonna be an actress
She was gonna be a star
She was gonna shake her ass
On the hood of Whitesnake`s car
Her yellow SUV is now the enemy
Looks at her average life
And nothing has been
Alright

Since Bruce Springsteen, Madonna
Way before Nirvana
There was U2 and Blondie
And music still on MTV
Her two kids in high school
They tell her that she`s uncool
'Cause she still preoccupied
With 19, 19, 1985

Woohoohoo
(1985)
Woohoohoo

She`s seen all the classics
She knows every line
Breakfast Club, Pretty In Pink
Even St. Elmo's Fire
She rocked out to Wham!
Not a big Limp Bizkit fan
Thought she'd get a hand
On a member of Duran Duran

Where's the mini-skirt made of snakeskin?
And who's the other guy that's singing in Van Halen?
When did reality become T.V.?
What ever happen to sitcoms, game shows?
(on the radio was)

Springsteen, Madonna
Way before Nirvana
There was U2 and Blondie
And music still on MTV
Her two kids in high school
They tell her that she`s uncool
'Cause she still preoccupied
With 19, 19, 1985

Woohoohoo

She hates time; make it stop
When did Motley Crue become classic rock? (classic rock)
And when did Ozzy become an actor?
Please make this stop, stop, stop! (tick tick tick)

And bring back
Springsteen, Madonna
Way before Nirvana
There was U2 and Blondie
And music still on MTV
Her two kids in high school
They tell her that she`s uncool
'Cause she still preoccupied
With 1985

(Woohoohoo)

Bruce Springsteen, Madonna
Way before Nirvana (1985)
There was U2 and Blondie
And music still on MTV (1985) (Woohoohoo)

how come SR-71 has the same exact song on their newest album "Here We Go Again"???? Who's song is this, I know that BFS has a video for it that came out a little while ago, but the SR-71 album came out in May. Someone help me out here

brandnizzle~~SR-71 allowed BFS to remake the song as a collaborative effort. Lead singer Mitch Allan from SR-71 even makes a brief appearance in the BFS vid :)

the song is funny and the video is too. And for those who think it's horrible or sickening, not everything has to have some dramatic meaning or symbolism. Sometimes things just need to be funny; and made fun of as well

cratic--bowling for soup has been around since 1994 and theyve made the same kind of music since then, so dont write them off as just another part of a trend, think before you say something

i agree with brandnizzle! i mean i get really irritated on you schmucks saying this and that sucks keep your opinion to yourselves plus i looked at your "Top 10 Artists" and i mean no wonder you might not like this song mostly of you are in to "harcore screaming heavy guitarrs men with leather tight pants" music...i just don't get what it's not to like about the song it's funny it's catchy it brings a smile on your face not everything has to be scream music and hating the world style

If they've been around since 1994, then that just makes them even worse. How can you be a band for 10 years, and not improve your sound?? No matter what you think, this is nothing but pop music. As for my top ten (or I guess 40 for the time being) you never looked to hard, because i can't stand hardcore screaming bands. Emo blows as much as these guys. And as for style, these guys are just ripping off everyone elses style. They want to be different, but guess what? They look the same as any other pop band out right now.

If you are so anti-pop Cratic, how come Aerosmith is on your list. They blatantly changed their style of rock on their album Just Push Play to sell records. On top of that what does pop mean? Oh yea that's right, popular. All of the bands you listed at one point in their career were pop, so you have no reason to say this is shitty music because it is pop. once again, think before you speak, you keep making yourself seem more and more ignorant.

So your theory is everything that is good is pop music? So NoFx are pop? Nirvana's pop? B.B. King is pop? Slipknots pop? I can go on forever here. As for aerosmith, there old stuff is the best music they have. Stuff like Permenant Vacation, and Pump. There last cd (Honkin' on bobo) is actually a cover cd, and is all old blues songs. These guys (bowling for soup) are POP music. They sound just like any other pop band out right now, and this song is just a disgrace to good bands like Nirvana, Motley Crue, U2, Ozzy, and Van Halen. Pop music at one time was alright, The Beatles were a pop band in my opinion, and now, you got stupid wannabe rock bands like good charlotte, simple plan, yellowcard, and these guys. I can't wait for this stupid little fad to be done and over with, and when real music returns.

close minded people like you are just annoying, you don't open up your mind to other genres. whether it be "pop" or not. if you actually listened to bowling for soup you would know that most of their songs are jokes, meant to be funny, and making fun/cracking fun at people. How is this song a disgrace to bands, all the singer is saying is how a now middle aged lady wishes she was back in the 80's when music was "awesome" to her. Once again, your argument is flawed.

Well since you're bringing up a totally new subject, it sounds like you lost that argument, but I'll go along with ya anyways...You say that I don't open my mind to new genre's? Once again, just look at my profile...I listen to a very wide range of music including artists like B.B. King, Chuck Berry, Ben Kweller, Led Zeppelin, NoFx, Anti-flag, The Ramones, Nirvana, Pink Floyd, Coldplay, and I can go on forever here. So once again, you're wrong. So just let it go, and get on with your life already.

I still don't see how he is right. Sure the word pop derived from the word popular, but that doesn't meant that any well know band or song is pop music. Pop is a genre like blues, heavy metal, country, rap, etc. Pop music now consists of mainly boy bands with instruments, and female teenage singers, who really have no voice. All this band is doing is copying stuff that other bands have already done, and are making money off of it. That's how this is a disgrace. And when I actually look at it, the lyrics in this go pretty much hand in hand with Billy Joels We Didn't Start the Fire. So once agian, I really don't see how he is right.

Yes pop music is its own genre, but it does not consist solely of boy/girl bands. It involves any band who gets labelled 'sell-outs' as bands that to 'sell-out' usually attract the same audience as those who listen to boy/girl bands, making it POPular.
Yes B.F.S's songs arent meant to be serious, a point that most people tend to forget and use it as an argument. I havent thought this comment through properly as i was pressurised at gun-point by Cratic to reply.

Okay, I was just looking through all of the comments on this song, and I must admit that you people have way too much time on your hands and too little to do if you can spent that much time and effort arguing over a song. It's a fun song, catchy, and I personally like it. My mom even likes it, says it reminds her way too much of her own life. This song was written by the members of BFS for their mothers. And I sooo don't see how this song resembles Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire" at all. It just doesn't. This song isn't supposed to be taken seriously, whereas "We Didn't Start the Fire" is. Where did that even come from? I'm listening to "We Didn't" right now, and they are nothing alike, except maybe that they both make references to historical people and older bands? They don't even mention the same people, though. I just don't see it at all. Anyway, I personally love this song! It's fun and I love to listen to it! :)
