I see your point legend. I think Green Day jumped on the "politics" bandwagon, but only for American Idiot. But I think that Green Day are just growing up. Did you listen to any singles from Warning? And do you know how old they are? Green Day still play the music they love (as proved that their shows), but they are just advancing (and I use that term lightly) musically and trying different things. I personally think this album is amazing. The slower songs have all the emotion while there are fast pop-punk songs (I don't mean to burst your bubble, but Green Day were never punk. I am an old fan of both Greenday and Modest Mouse and I see the same thing happening with both bands. A great song is released on a new CD that hits the scene and forces the veterans to say we hate it, even though both Float On and The Boulevarde of Broken Dreams are very well done tracks. And you call call me conformist or trendy, but I'm tired of caring about people liking the new stuff from good bands so that I have to act like I hate their new shit. People will constantly realize that certain bands are great and I don't want to have to give into that every time one of my favorite bands has a song on the radio. I think they wrote it for the same sort of reason they wrote this song, and it just doesn't seem like it's them. Ok, well Karen and this girl (her name is Terri) cut school and went down town but our history teacher was on holidays with her son, and she was down town.
