Hello
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me
Is there anyone at home?
Come on, now
I hear you're feeling down
Well, I can ease your pain
Get you on your feet again
Relax
I need some information first
Just the basic facts
Can you show me where it hurts?

There is no pain, you are receding
A distant ship's smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're sayin'
When I was a child I had a fever
My hands felt just like two balloons
Now I've got that feeling once again
I can't explain, you would not understand
This is not how I am
I have become comfortably numb
I have become comfortably numb

Ok
Just a little pinprick
There'll be no more --Aaaaaahhhhh!
But you may feel a little sick
Can you stand up?
I do believe it's working, Good
That'll keep you going through the show
Come on it's time to go

There is no pain, you are receding
A distant ship's smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're sayin'
When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child is grown, the dream is gone
I have become comfortably numb
The Wall

perfection...sheer perfection, like countless other Pink Floyd songs. The solo's are pure genious, just well placed notes...the whole time, pinched harmonics..and so bluesy. Perfect, there is no getting around, Pink Floyd is one of Music's greatest

This song does for me what it does for Pink -- makes me Comfortably Numb. No matter how much it hurts, or how corny that sounds.

This song is the most brillant song ever recorded. By far their best and the best one ever made. The lyrics/vocals are amazing but what really does it is the guitarsolo. It's so unforgetalby brillant. The even better solo is the one on Pulse that I call out to be the best solo ever made! This song rules and so does Floyd. The solo on Pulse really is so good it ussually almost makes me cry. Gilmout is a genius!!

Slow and maybe ballad? I feel really relaxed after hearing this song. It's all about not giving a fuck about others. Simply you don't care, and you got tired or numb. Just like Nothing Else Matters, I find both solos towards the ending very meaningful.

Have you ever watched the move The Wall? BEcause this song is pretty much exactly how they depict it. The singer of the band is all strung out on drugs and booze, and is barely alive, so his manager gets someone to shoot him up with some more shit (either more drugs or adrenaline, most likely drugs) just so that he will be able to perform that night.

"Now I've got that feeling once again
I can't explain, you would not understand
This is not how I am" These lines really turn me into one of those pink floyd fans. It simplys shows no one understands how you feel, and there is no point in explaining. I really like these lines, and I'm able to relate myself alot to it.

After a few days, this song turned from a stranger to my favourite song. I used to detest this song because it was slow and I thought the lyrics were bullshit. This song grows so much in me that Im playing the song and video every morning. I feel good after listening and to the point of addiction as well as Im able to relate the lyrics to my life as well. Last of all the solo is really really touching. The solo seems to be able to link the lyrics and tell all of it's emotions.

this song is great. it really opens me up...yeah after listening to it a few times it was one of my favs too...it think how they go from a really sad sound to a slightly happier sound...you they move from " there is no pain, you are receeding" that parts...the tempo ups it and it just...brings me back...

Oh wow... this is such an amazing song. I love Water's vocals - they're so melancholy and beautiful. As for the music, well, everyone else has already made mentinon of it... the guitar solo. Damn, this is song is so great!

Both the live and studio versions are great and display one of the greatest guitar solos of all time that Roger Waters' touring band post-Floyd could not re-create.
