He’s got fasting black lungs
Made of clove splintered shardes
They’re the kind that will talk
Through a weezing of coughs
And I hear him every night
In every pore
And every time he just makes me warm

Freeze without an answer
Free from all the shame
Must I hide
Cuz I’ll never never sleep alone

Look at how they flock to him
From an isle of open sores
He knows that the taste is such
Such to die for
And I hear him every night
On every street
The scales that do slither
Deliver me from…
Freeze without an answer
Free from all the shame
Then I’ll hide
Cuz i’ll never never sleep alone

Oh lord
Said I’m bloodshot for sure
Pale runs the ghost
Swollen on the shore everynight in every pore
The scales that do slither
Deliver me from…
Freeze without an answer
Free from all the shame
Then I’ll hide
Cuz I’ll never never sleep alone

what an oddly simple structure from The Mars Volta...still a solid song...makes more sense when listened to within the entire album then on it's own

Although simple, it still retains the typical Mars Volta sound. I really like it.

Yeah, I just realized that today. I thought it was an EP due to how many songs this album has.

Great song. It's much more straightforward than some of their other material, but it's fantastic nonetheless.

well, legally, with 5 tracks, it IS an EP, the band was only going to be paid for an EP,and that's why they split up Cassandra Gemini into 8 tracks.

It's a good song, maybe not their best, but some very deep lyrics

No of course not. Why would catchy by bad. That's just fucking stupid! Although it might be their most radiofriendly song it still is one off their most beautiful songs! And The video kicks ass aswell

Oh come ON Vash. This song fits the envelope of radio friendly quite nicely, perfect structure and melody. I suppose you're referring to the set of noise at the end perhaps.

Great song, my only gripe with it is the two minutes of ambient sounds. A little too much when the song practically ends at 3:20.

Yeah, I'm not the biggest Mars Volta fan but I like em' better than Sparta anyhow. This is a nice track, even if a little too radio-friendly for a Mars Volta track...

......Sparta? At the Drive in? Alright ATDI was good. But anyone that knows anything knows that Cedric and Omar were all the talent in ATDI. TMV takes the goodness of ATDI that was bound by genre and just completely gets rid of the boundaries.

No. You cant even compare Mars Volta to any other bands. They are a sound of their own, as are all the others. I've falling hard for this song and cd. It definitly puts me in a mood.

It's a good song...That is up until the wannabe Pink Floyd shit at the end. It's just pointless and drags on for far too long.

i find myself sitting here, grasping the headphones a little tighter as the vocals kick into high gear. stomping my feet to the melodies, a rush of emotions run through me and it's because of the insanity of it all that i find myself enjoying this song more and more.
