I know that it is freezin, but I think we have to walk. I keep waving at the taxis; they keep turning their lights off. But Julie knows a party at some actor’s west side loft. Supplies are endless in the evening, by the morning they’ll be gone.

When everything gets lonely I can be my own best friend. I’ll grab a coffee and the paper; have my own conversations, with the sidewalk and the pigeons and my window reflection. The mask I polish in the evening, by the morning looks like shit.

I know you have a heavy heart; I can feel it when we kiss. So many men much stronger than me have thrown their backs out trying to lift it. But me I’m not gamble you can count on me to split. The love I sell you in the evening, by the morning won’t exist.

You’re looking skinny like a model with your eyes all painted black. You just keep going to the bathroom always say you’ll be right back.
Well it takes one to know one, kid, I think you’ve got it bad. But what’s so easy in the evening, by the morning is such a drag.

I’ve got a flask inside my pocket we can share it on the train. If you promise to stay conscious I will try and do the same. We might die from medication, but we sure killed all the pain. But what was normally in the evening, by the morning seems insane.

And I’m not sure what the trouble was that started all of this. The reasons have run away but the feeling never did. It’s not something I would recommend, but it is one way to live. Cause what is simple in the moonlight, by the morning never is. What’s so simple in the moonlight, by the morning is so complicated. What’s so simple in the moonlight… so simple in the moonlight… so simple in the moonlight.

Incredible song. Kinda reminds me off Clodplay's "Green eyes". Less good of course but still very awesome

The video for this is just as boring as the song. So far it's the only one I heard from him, but I hope he has better.

I think this song is way better than Green Eyes by Coldplay. Not that Green Eyes isn't a good song or anything, I just think that Bright Eyes is a lot better than coldplay. I love this song, not the best, but still great.

he didn't say that. he said that they're NOTHING compared to Coldplay, implying that they are not as good. Learn English.

i think that Conor Oberst is a wonderful writer. i was reading an article in the new yorker that compared him to Bob Dylan and i have to agree. he is the voice of our generation.

quit the flamin' ya idiots. coldplay is a fucknut and i'm judging that from one song. the most popular one that gets played on the radio and shit. with all that moaning from the singer. it gives me a fucking headache.

This band is incredibly overrated. I like a couple of their songs and it all sounds pretty much ok. But they don't have that special thing that make bands like Coldplay so fucking great. Bright Eyes is a bit boring and that Bob Dylan comparisment is the stupidiest thing ever!

ok have you ever listened to bob dylan? bright eyes are definatly the new generation of dylans. if bob dylan ever sang one of these song back in the day it would have been one of the biggest hits he ever had...

You're so scary. Alright, you keep comparing him to Dylan, so when are we going to hear all of these masterpiece records and singles from him? When is rolling stone going to make one of his songs the greatest song ever written? When am I going to at least hear one of his songs on the radio? The next Bob Dylan? More like a bad Elliott Smith.

Conor is nothing to Dylan. But their also not even on the same page nor the same category, This is a good song but I thought "Train under water" should have been the single, Still a good song

"When is rolling stone going to make one of his songs the greatest song ever written? When am I going to at least hear one of his songs on the radio?"

Because those are the benchmarks of a great artist, for sure.

You know you should have quoted the whole post, and not just a certain point of it, but either way, those are benchmarks that Dylan has had in his career, and that Bright Eyes will never even come close to. Like has this guy even had a platinum album yet? Seriously. The only place that I hear about this guy is on this site. And yes, I have downloaded some of his songs to see what all the fuss is about, but I can't for the life of me figure it out! There are 500 other singer/songwriters out there that sound exactly the same! All they're doing is leeching on the anti-bush parade, and the Emo uprising, and trying to brainwash stupid liberal teens who can't think for themselves, and have to have some mumbling over-hyped wanabe singer tell them what to think. To me this craze is just as bad (if not worse) than all of the wannabe "thugs" who listen to shitty ass hip-hop and rap.

normally I'd agree with cratic, as I'm sick of all the people jumping on the anti-bush bandwagon and sounding exactly the same and just repeating other peoples opinions and it's a shame so many musicians insist on getting political and killing the joy of music for being just that - an escape from all the politics and other worldy shit.. but I think bright eyes is different in the music originality area. maybe its the way i heard them, but they were the first i heard to sound like this. and he is a powerful writer. his songwriting isn't as skilled as his lyrics, but he's still good. and yes, now there are a million artists that sound just like him.. but he was the first i heard like this. and i love him for his lyric writing talents, and the emotion he puts into most of his songs.

Oh, and I think it can be said about him that he HASN'T had a multi-platinum album. and he still continues to produce music. obviously he's in it for the love of the music, and look at all those shitty artists out there who are producing multi-billion dollar albums.. they suck. i think conor oberst has it good in not being popular, but still having a devoted following who love him for the music, not because he's popular.

You are all idiots. Are you honestly all just arguing about how much you like/don't like bright eyes? shut up faggots. he has talent, in singing and song writing, and if you disagree, that's great, but could you do better? I don't see why everyone has to insult each other. haha wow hypocrisy.

Cratic. It's alright if you don't like this music, to me it's some of the best lyrics and songwriting out there. And of those 500 songwriters out there who sound exactly like Brighteyes, I've heard none. Obviously we disagree. But to totally categorize and dismiss an artist's entire fan base is just close minded. I don't fit into any of the stereotypes you highlighted in your rant, and I still like this music. I'm in the military, hardly a Bush hater, nowhere close to emo or stupid and I can definitely think for myself. Also, not all rap is shitty.
