I've actually read that the song is about Anthony
leaving Saosin. He is telling the story of a girl
who either has to stay in the building and be
burned by the flames or jump out the window. The
reason for the title is that people at high
altitudes often get nosebleeds. According to AG,
the idea of the song being about drugs had not
even occurred to him.
