WHY DO THEY ALWAYS SEND THE POOR!
Barbarisms by Barbaras with pointed heels.
Victorious, victorious, kneel.
For brand new spankin' deals.
Marching forward hypocritic
and hypnotic computers.
You depend on our protection,

Yet you feed us lies from the table cloth.
la la la la la la la la la,
Everybody’s going to the party have a real good time.
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine.

kneeling roses disappearing,
into Moses’ dry mouth,
breaking into Fort Knox,
stealing our intentions,
Hangars sitting dripped in oil,
Crying FREEDOM!

Handed to obsoletion,
Still you feed us lies from the table cloth.
La la la la la la la la la,
Everybody’s going to the party have a real good time.
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine.
Everybody’s going to the party have a real good time.
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine.

Blast off, its Party time,
And we all live in a fascist nation,
Blast off , its party time,
And where the fuck are you?
….. Yeah
Where the fuck are you?
Where the fuck are you?

Why don’t presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why don’t presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor? [X4]

Kneeling roses disappearing,
into Moses’ dry mouth,
breaking into Fort Knox,
stealing our intentions,
Hangars sitting dripped in oil,
Crying FREEDOM!

Handed to obsoletion,
Still you feed us lies from the tablecloth.
la la la la la la la la la,
Everybody’s going to the party have a real good time.
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine.
Everybody’s going to the party have a real good time.
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine.

Where the fuck are you!
Where the fuck are you!

Why don’t presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why don’t presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor? [X3]
Why, do, they always send the poor [X3]
They only send the poor [x2]

This song is for all the people that think SOAD's songs are all the same, this has their heavy metal with a mix of what's almost R&B in it. This song is a great catapult that makes me wanna stand in line for 5 hours waiting for the release of Mezmerize

This song is awesome for it's sound and lyrics, System always has a new sort of "theme" with every album, Mezmerize has a much more metal sound to it compared to Toxicity's overall laid-backness. This is a definate favorite of mine.

I think it sounds pretty much like SOAD always have. Not a good track really, the chourus (everybody goin to the party) is really nice, but the "extreme" bits are not good, and I hate the way Daron trying to scream something like Casey Chaos.

this song is the perfect first single because it really gives you a sense of what the album's gonna sound like, but it isn't the best track on the album, not by a longshot. it's very dynamic and fun throughout, if not a bit long, and it spares no expense in the heavy department. it isn't quite a return to form, but that's because they never lost it to begin with, they were just on vacation. welcome back, system.

the message is awesome, if you interperate it right. but that's the thing with System songs, no one interperates it correctly and they think it's a bunch of silly nonsense, but system lyrics are commendably intelligent, if you're not ignorant. this one is making fun of army recruitment ads and pointing out the utter stupidity of being drafted into a war, and it is excellent. it has some Napalm Death elements to it which is very nice.

great song, i know exactly what bob123(etc) means. i've heard "system is just completely random and i love them for it!" too many times. There are MEANINGS to every song, usually political. anyway, a great song, purty awesome, though at the end it gets slightly annoying with the repetative "why do they always send the poor".

i have one thing to say about this entire album, and this song summarizes it. system of a down's music has become too obvious. as forgottencold or whatever his name was said, SOAD's [old] songs take intelligence to understand, and can have multiple meanings. this is too obvious. this takes no intelligence to interpret, just the ability to type "system of a down" lyrics. i miss old SOAD.

this is the most obvious song system have ever done but i dont think they should be criticised , it seems like they are just trying a new angle, and maybe it mean a wider audience will finally realise some things that are happening!! this whole album is quite different from old SOAD because daron has written alot of the material whereas previously it was mostly serj . this song and the other songs on mezmerize are all extremely good and are GREAT for live performance (i saw them at brixton) System still rule xx

So: OVERPLAYED, that said this is definetly a good song, with good lyrics, and a good message. hardcore SOAD fans may be disappointed with this and other songs off this album because it shares none of the groundbreaking suprises that Toxicity did. That fact, i'd have to say is the reason for its simplicity of meaning. i realize that the lyrics have been a little dumbed down, that i believe is due to a few factors including: larger fanbase (global), Daron's involvement in writing/singing, wanting to be sucinct, whatever. bashing system for this release, imho, proves how narrow-minded you are and how you want to cling to the niche of Toxicity wherein you think listening to SOAD makes you "misunderstood," i think they can have a little leeway with this and Hypnotize because of their brilliance in the past. I still love this ablum and it sits next to Toxicity on my CD rack. Sidenote: any1 getting their information about politics from music is an idiot and doesnt deserve to comment.
