Floating in red again.
A deepened soil.
Nothing.
Empty cup.
Trade not known.
Showing promise of a perfect land.
No regrets for a fallen ground.
The omen passed.
Woman possessed.
Reflect on the duties held.
Oceans morph to dust.
Chasing the timeline.
Bolts of light flash.
Original storm god.
The atmosphere the floats above the Earth.
Is corrupt for man.
This we know.
What has dwelt within the early dawn has gone away.
That's okay.
Dig.
Climb.
Ancient elm.
Root.
Ride the vine of father ground our carving.
The atmosphere the floats above the Earth.
Is corrupt for man.
This we know.
Circle.
Made of ash.
Betray her presence.
Huntress.
Gentle breath.
Listen to the poisoned rose.

They should write more of these tracks, the singing is so damn good!

Once again, I agree completely with Jochem here. In this song, the singing goes from being merely acceptable, as it has been on most of these guys' songs, to something almost unheard of for Mastodon: pretty damn good.

The intro to this song is beautiful. This is one of the best on Blood Mountain for sure.

This song is so good, I seriously wouldn't mind if Mastodon made a whole album like this next time. It's crazy, its' catchy, it's emotional, and it just plain rocks. It reminds me of progressive metal but it's not really like that, it's just Mastodon. Anyway, two thumbs up from me, excellent track.

Actually I think this is the direction I want Mastodon to take, it's very progressive but still captures all those qualities that make Mastodon original. This style is very malleable and they could still keep that bone crushing hardcore style they're known for while still exploring a more progressive style.
