Personally, I've taken a particular liking to this song. It's sung well, very heartfelt. The vocalist brings out the deeper meaning in the abstract lyrics very nicely. And seriously, any band who can get away with using the word "rapturous" repeatedly in a song today without making it sound stuffy and forced is a band who gains my respect.

Although I am returning to quite an old comment, I feel that it must be resolved. Poopstick Ninja, many bands can be called "the next big thing", Funeral For A Friend mainly, but AFI can not, under any circumstances, be called the "next big thing". Notice how since you made the comment, AFI haven't recieved much more media coverage than normal, and the fact that people have listened to and loved them for over a decade. "AFI was formed in the summer of 1992 in Ukiah, California, a small town 2 hours South of San Francisco." (Davey Havok) '92? Well, if they've been around since '92, that hardly makes them the "next big thing" does it? And even if they did suddenly recieve a sudden jolt in popularity from mainstream listeners, I wouldn't rate that as a bad thing at all. After this long and being this good, they certainly deserve it. And if said popularity would then suddenly decrease (i.e. Good Charlotte), then the underground kids would still love them. In closing, Silver And Cold rules.

One of my fav tracks on this album, I just love it. And who cares how big AFI get or what fucking label they're signed to? Point is, AFI have always kicked ass and made wicked music, and hopefully they always will. And as for these "old" AFI fans who are saying this album is shit, then you were all obviously not true fans at all to turn on a band you supposedly loved so much. AFI wanted to change their sound, so give them a fucking break. Most bands like AFI aren't even around anymore. If changing their sound is what it took to keep them together and for them to make this awesome album, then so be it. Enough said.

A good song happens when it speaks to you in a way that no one else can perceive. That being said, everyone will feel differently about it.

On a more objective note, the dynamics of this song are really fantastic, but I can see how someone wouldn't find it over-the-top impressive from a strictly technical standpoint. It /is/ really lovely to listen to, though.
