Putting Opeth into one genre is impossible to do. Opeth just make perfect albums and genres can't touch them.

They do a damn good job of combining extremely heavy bits with flowing, melodic harmonies and crazy, unpredictable chord progressions. Their vocalist is amazing, going from growling to clean, pure, vocal genius with no breaks in the flow of things. Damnation, Blackwater Park, and Deliverance are incredible.

You all pretty much said it, they are a great band and I have been listening to them for about 5 years now. I have to say that everytime they come out with a new album I always have a smile on my face from start to finish.
