Judas Priest are nothing comparing with MetallicA
Avatar #10: THE Perfect Name - Posted: 05/22/2007, 06:54 PM
i love plenty of metal bands, but there just isnt a band i find more entertaining and exciting than Metallica. Theyre my fave metal band of all time, and will most likely always be. We have a lot to thank them for.
Avatar #11: I c y - Posted: 05/26/2007, 09:07 AM
You can never compare bands. MetallicA will just be MetallicA and Judas Priest will just be Judas Priest.
Avatar #12: Jochem - Posted: 06/18/2007, 06:05 AM
Metallica are a good band and I was obsessed with them about 3 -4 years ago (see my atrocious reviews on the site for them) but there are so many better metal bands. They aren't the gods of metal, they just released 4 good thrash albums and 1 good heavy metal albums. After that they could still write some good songs but sporadicly and it just died after that. Metallica are good but nowhere near the best. Ulver, Death, Neurosis, Kayo Dot, Emperor, Opeth, Meshuggah, Athiest and Cynic. Those are the absolutely cream of metal, really try them out and you'll see there is more to metal than just metallica.
Avatar #13: lord_dreg - Posted: 06/23/2007, 01:40 PM
Metallica are better than Priest for one good reason, they.ve managed to adapt their style over the last few albums, whereas (in my opinion) Priest stayed very similar and stagnated somewhat, although i still love them...
Avatar #14: dr dave - Posted: 07/24/2007, 05:01 PM
no, metallica are the gods of being metallica. you really cant compare them to preist or meshuggah. ive been listening to them for so many years and i still find new things i like in the intricacies of their instrumentals. just awesome
Avatar #15: Xtreme17nc13 - Posted: 07/31/2007, 09:31 PM
I like Metallica, but they definitely aren't the greatest. But hey, everyone has their own opinion, right?

METALLICA RULES!!!
Avatar #17: Mr. Mistoffelees86 - Posted: 10/06/2007, 12:45 PM
My personal favorite. Everyone bitches about them selling out without taking anything else into account. It may not have been the best move for them, but they have a right to protect their life's work. People maybe just complain because they couldn't get free music anymore.
Avatar #18: DieForHonor - Posted: 12/03/2007, 10:20 AM
Come on, everyone has their own opinion. We all like the bands we like, so it doesn't really matter which one is "better". It only matters what you like. In my opinion, Metallica is one of the best bands of all time, but not the best. Up until "Load" they were good and I think their songs sucked after that. By the way, the term "sell-out" is fuckin stupid. You'll never know why a person decides to do something cuz you cant read their minds so everyone needs to shut the fuck up about selling out. Who cares? You either like the band or you don't. Grow up.
Avatar #19: kav3MaN! - Posted: 01/30/2008, 03:04 PM
I wish everyone would shut the fuck up..."Why can't they make another 'Master Of Puppets'?" It's been 22 years since that album was put out...let it go already. Bands evolve...the sound changes...if you like it, good...if you don't, then stop bitching and just go live in the past.
Avatar #20: DieForHonor - Posted: 02/05/2008, 02:58 PM
Exactly.
Avatar #21: Mörderwolf777 - Posted: 03/02/2008, 08:04 PM
I agree, none of the thrash bands sound like they used to, because if they did that would be boring. I liked metallicas early stuff, master of puppets is one of the best songs ive ever heard, but from black album onward theyr too slow and boring for me.
Avatar #22: Vita Letum - Posted: 03/04/2008, 11:20 PM
I loved the Black Album. It was my favorite out of everything I've heard. St. Anger wasn't too bad, it's a new sound that has to grow on you.
Avatar #23: Danzors - Posted: 04/03/2008, 10:24 AM
well they influenced Bring Me The Horizon so they're AOK in my book
Avatar #24: Limited On Death - Posted: 04/04/2008, 01:56 AM
Cliff and Dave are the REAL greatness behind this band. "And Justice" is just a clone of "Master Of Puppets" 'Blackened' sounds the same as 'Battery' and 'One' sounds like 'Sanitarium'. Even Master is just a clone of Ride the Lightning, making Justice a clone of a clone. All they care about now is getting money even if it means losing fans along the way (Napster is a clear example of that)
Avatar #25: DieForHonor - Posted: 04/17/2008, 04:47 PM
That would make them human i guess...
Avatar #26: Limited On Death - Posted: 04/20/2008, 11:53 AM
As an "update", I'd like to say the comment I made below is no longer current as I now like the first 5 albums, so I guess that would make me a regular fan of this band
Avatar #27: Mörderwolf777 - Posted: 05/10/2008, 10:30 AM
thats true, dave mustaine wrote metallicas best songs. and without cliff burton theyv got nothing
Avatar #28: kav3MaN! - Posted: 07/24/2008, 05:34 AM
Morderwolf777, I respect your opinion, but come on, Mustaine only has writing credits on five of Metallica's songs (The Four Horsemen, Jump In The Fire, Phantom Lord, Metal Militia, The Call of Ktulu). Are you telling me those are their best? What about the rest of "Kill 'Em All"? Or the other seven tracks on "Ride The Lightning"? "Master of Puppets" anyone? I will agree though, Cliff Burton is and will always be the best bassist they've ever had. Newsted and Trujillo don't come close. RIP Cliff m/
Avatar #29: Tartarus666 - Posted: 08/04/2008, 11:11 PM
metallica was amazing until cliff died
Avatar #30: BundtCake87 - Posted: 08/13/2008, 12:15 PM
Not true. The two albums they released after his death are solid but everything after that has been doodie. Heres to hoping their new album is a step in the right direction.
Avatar #31: kav3MaN! - Posted: 08/14/2008, 01:54 PM
Rest assured, I will be one of the first to review "Death Magnetic." I have a Mission: Metallica account and I've been listening to some of the new stuff and will have the album on release date. Is it the Metallica of old? No, but I can already tell it's going to be miles better than "St. Anger." That's my take on it, anyway. We'll find out September 12th. Can't wait!
Avatar #32: Dirkie - Posted: 08/18/2008, 01:04 PM
Even if they are old and some of their albums weren't to great they stil remain the father of metal! JH is my hero.
Avatar #33: Mr. Mistoffelees86 - Posted: 08/27/2008, 12:31 PM
These new songs are so far pretty kick ass. The day that never comes is reminiscent of the ...And Justice album and my apocalypse returns to thrash like the Master of Puppets album. Definitely moving back to glory if they keep it up like this.
Avatar #34: Limited On Death - Posted: 09/05/2008, 08:37 AM
St. Anger > Death Magnetic, new album just sounds like all there old songs were thrown in a blender and mixed up so they sound different nothing new about.
Avatar #35: ConManX - Posted: 09/10/2008, 01:17 AM
anything is better than St Anger...the hell is wrong with you? Death Magnetic sounds 10x better than St Anger.
Avatar #36: celticwarlord422 - Posted: 09/13/2008, 03:30 PM
Damn straight! St. Anger was shockingly bad. I've heard most of the songs on Death Magnetic and so far i'm impressed. It ain't Ride the Lightning but it sure is something special. It shows they're on the right track.
Avatar #37: DieForHonor - Posted: 09/22/2008, 01:50 PM
Amen ConManx. New CD is pretty good.

Woah dude, Judas Priest are most definatley not gay (well the singer is, but thats not the point.). They're definaltey coming back.
Avatar #42: Jaxz - Posted: 10/24/2008, 08:01 PM
Metallica is worn and old. Listen to the new Disc and you will hear every great riff "tallic came up with decades before. I hope that they'll try to leave on top and fade to black.
Avatar #43: Blazeautomatica - Posted: 10/28/2008, 05:45 PM
celticwarlord422 i would agree with you but not in this case.... judas priest is not coming back (they are not very good to me)
Death Magnetic on the other hand fuckin rocks... i have the cd and its on my guitar hero, i freakin love every min.
Avatar #44: celticwarlord422 - Posted: 10/31/2008, 05:57 AM
I was talking about Metallica coming back. Judas Priest don't have a hope in hell if they make Nostradamus copies, lol.
Avatar #45: Poopstick Ninja - Posted: 11/04/2008, 02:10 AM
Their albums keep getting worse and tickets to see them keep getting more expensive. It all just doesn't really make sense.
Avatar #46: blackbird. - Posted: 11/18/2008, 10:03 PM
I semi-agree with Poopstick. The ticket prices are astronomical; they just played here last night, I believe, and they were going for $60 a piece. And although I like their new stuff, for the most part, I do think they are not as good as they used to be. But unfortunately, sometimes bands change and never go back to the way they used to be. Metallica has gone through a lot of change in their more than two decades long career. Can't expect them to stay four speed metal knuckleheads.
Avatar #47: The Demented Guitarist - Posted: 12/09/2008, 12:52 AM
new album is probably the best they've released in a long time its reminiscent of justice and master without redoing them. i really enjoy death magnetic cause it shows that james can actually sing not just sorta yell in a key that fits the song casue honestly thats what there first albums were vocally neways. n st. anger lacked musical creativity (e a and g aren't the only chords u can play on guitar) which means death magnetic blows it away but they arent a thrash metal band nemore they grew up

Metallica rules - now, then and always!
Avatar #49: Apebrains - Posted: 04/02/2009, 08:58 AM
Sounds like a lot of people in here need to listen to Tool's "Hooker With A Penis". Take a close look at those lyrics, folks, then tell these bands how to perform their acts and approach their careers.
There was certainly a time when Metallica was the most impressive act in rock music; certainly one of the most famous, but when it came/comes to intelligent, thought provoking, life altering music, I don't know that they rank higher than a strong medium. If you want to experienc a band that can influence/change your life and the way you live it, try Tool. They have taken the torch, intensified it's flame, obscured it from the quotidian masses, and multiplied it's significance by infinity. Metallica is being inducted into the Rock n' Roll hall of fame, and though that institution is nothing more than a dildo for the asshole of every media obsessed Hollywood asshole, it does certainly honor such acts for valid reasons. Metallica will forever hold a significant place in music history.
Avatar #50: Apebrains - Posted: 04/02/2009, 09:04 AM
Ever post something and wish immediately after that you had spent more time editing so the thirteen year old angst filled preteen masturbation kings don't accuse you of redundancy or poor spelling or grammar or whatever?

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame = Dildo for every media obessed Hollywood asshole.

Their now I feel better.

OCD? I think not. But come on, if we're going to be vulgar here, let's keep it classy.
Avatar #51: metalhead4evr - Posted: 07/18/2009, 05:13 PM
HOW IS ST ANGER THE MOST POPULAR ALBUM? IT WAS THE WORST PIECE OF CRAP TO EVER COME OUT FROM A METAL BAND? Where are RIde the Lightning and Kill Em All up there? Those 2 and Puppets and Justice are staples in any collection
Avatar #52: PrayForTheFlood93 - Posted: 11/07/2011, 02:27 AM
