passed out in our school clothes
so we'd wake up in our sunday's best
i never asked for your opinion
i just got it, and i get it
you move slow like daytime drama
and i'm boring like his songs
so while i'm taking you for granted
we'll be humming along

well cross my heart and hope to...
i'm lying just to keep you here
so reckless, so (so reckless)
so thoughtless (so thoughtless)
oh so careless i could care less
cross my heart and hope to...
i'm lying just to keep you here
(so reckless)
i'll keep you here
(so thoughtless)
i could care less

so paint your face up something elegant
and this town maybe a darker shade of red
cause a long night
means a fist fight
against your pillow and my pearly whites
i wanna hear you scream
you'd like me better on my knees
(we dont believe in...)
so let us pray...
(...second chances)
so let us pray...
(don't you ask me)
don't..you...move.
(and neither will i...)

cross my heart and hope to...
i'm lying just to keep you here
so reckless (so reckless) so
so thoughtless (so thoughtless) oh
so careless, i could care less
cross my heart and hope to...
i'm lying just to keep you here
(so reckless)
i'll keep you here
(so thoughtless)
and i could care less (...I...)
well cross my heart and hope to...
i'm lying just to keep you here
i'll keep you here
i'll keep you here

one of us never did it, but we're taking it all
(cross my heart and hope to…)
did anyone ever bother, said you bothered enough
(i’m lying just to keep you here)
and leather eyes that are battered
wait, you said it, "it's a long night, hoping... knowing"
this glass house is burning down
(all this, all not knowing)
you light the match, i'll stick around
i'll give you everything you want
(all this, all not knowing)
and wish the worst on what i was
this glass house is burning down
(all this, all not knowing)
you light the match, i'll stick around
i'll give you everything you want
(all this, all not knowing)
and wish the worst on what i was
tonight won't make a difference
tonight won't make a difference
tonight won't make a difference
tonight won't make a difference
tonight won't make a difference
tonight won't make a difference
tonight won't make a difference
tonight won't make a difference

"passed out in our school clothes so we'd wake up in our sunday's best "

sounds alittle reminscent to brand news soco amaretto lime.
"passed out on the overpass, sunday best and broken glass."
eh?

That whole song reminded me of Soco Amaeretto Lime to be honest, I wonder about the (if any) connection there is.

probably is a connection, if you think back to seventy times seven and theres no 'i' in team, its probably what is like in this situation though ..this definatly seems more like soco amaretto lime than the bands own song..which sucks on there part. but a good song nonetheless

tbs and brand new have always mixed thier lyrics up at shows and stuff. they were best friends, got into a fight and just lik all friends, made up. yes this song is probably using certain words in relation to brand new, but they arent "fronting". its big bands keeping little band traditions. and my favorite part of the song is the "one of us never did it but we're taking it all....." part

Disaster... go to a show with Brand New and TBS. You'll see what we're talking about.

How do we know that Brand New isn't using TBS's lyrics? You're assuming that TBS was the one to steal the lyrics.

they did it on the last album too.
John (formerly of tbs): Well, it’s a long story. Basically the story behind that is a situation, which involved myself and Jesse from Brand New. While the songs were released at different times, they were both written around the same time about the same situation. Both songs are directly related “Seventy Times 7” is Jesse’s point of view and “There’s No ‘I’ In Team” is mine. They’re not necessarily opposing points of view, just from our personal perspective. The words “Best friends means friends forever” from “Seventy Times 7” was originally from our song so then we took the line from their song. It was a little devious on our part, I’d admit. We all think Brand New is an awesome band and we love them, it was a personal situation between me and Jesse and the songs just happened to result from it.

i really love this CD and this song especially, maybe because it does have a very "brand new" feel to it but the meaning to so awesome. definately can relate

Good song. I love the little bits and pieces of Brand New in there too (whether they're intentional or not, but how could they not be?) :) I don't think it really sounds like Soco Amaretto Lime, though. I mean, I guess it does if you think about it (not talking about the lyrics, the way it sounds), but that seems like kind of a stretch to me. I didn't think that when I first heard it and I probably wouldn't have if no one had said anything. Great song though :)

Ending the album on a good note. Put the song on repeat, and listen to until you have withered down to bones and carve the love, the emotion, the heart felt greatness that is TBS all over your skeleton, then, when they find you, they will know where your allegiance lies.

I don't think people give this record a fair chance... Bands don't stay the same forever, and the fact that TBS isn't afraid to change and grow is very noble.. They aren't afraid to lose part of their fan base to get out what they want to say... The lyrics and the way Fred and Adams voices melt together are beautiful.. Though I do miss John..

Godammit, why do the best bands always leave the best songs to the end of the CD? I would rather this be the first song, so I don't always have to skip to it first thing. It's so good.
