Covered As: Basket Case by Fall Out Boy
Basket Case by Nicotine
Parodied As: The Alternative Polka by "Weird Al" Yankovic
Do you have the time
to listen to me whine
About NOTHING and EVERYTHING
all at once
I am one of those
Melodramatic fools
Neurotic to the bone
No doubt about it
Sometimes I give myself the CREEPS
Sometimes my mind plays tricks on me
It all keeps adding up
I think I'm CRACKING UP
Am I just PARANOID?
Or am I just STONED
I went to a shrink
To analyze my dreams
SHE says it's lack of sex
that's bringing me down
I went to a whore
HE said my life's a bore
So quit my whining cause
it's bringing HER down
Sometimes I give myself the CREEPS
Sometimes my mind plays tricks on me
It all keeps adding up
I think I'm CRACKING UP
Am I just PARANOID?
Uh, yuh, yuh, ya
Grasping to CONTROL
So I BETTER hold on
Sometimes I give myself the CREEPS
Sometimes my mind plays tricks on me
It all keeps adding up
I think I'm CRACKING UP
Am I just PARANOID?
Or am I just STONED

this song isn't just a punk anthem, it's a staple of the 90s and a milestone of my entire fucking childhood. this band and this song defined an entire era of my life with their irresistably catchy pop/punk songs and even now, ten years later, they continue to provide the soundtrack to my life. they're as important to me as the ramones were to them. this isn't my favourite green day song but it's arguably their most famous and most anthemic. thanks for being there, guys.

although i was a bit young remember the music in the era just stated by Vash, i agree with everything he has said. This song will remain as one of the most important song in mine, and probably a hell of a lot more people's lives!

this album was a staple of my childhood in the mid-90's, it's nice that it still means a lot to people even now.

I love how Green Day doesnt take themselves seriously, especially in some of these lyrics. They can whine and entrall you, not whine and repel you.
